THYOLO (Malawian Watchdog)—The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) abuse of power has reached unprecedented levels as they have fired a lecturer at Malawi University of Science and Technology, Mr Goleza, for exercising his constitutional right, in expressing interest to represent opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in the forthcoming 2019 elections at Zomba Changalume constituency.
Malawian Watchdog has learnt that Mr Goleza is very popular on the ground in Changalume forcing DPP to ask him to dump MCP for DPP.
“He turned down this request hence DPP taking it to another level threatening him and subsequently using their influence to fire him at MUST,” said our reliable source.
The pendulum of power seems to be swinging towards the opposition MCP and this realization is not seating well with the ruling DPP hence using every tactic within and outside the book to remain to power. Malawi will hold election next year.
