As the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church leader Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is expected to appear before the Pretoria Commercial Crime Court for alleged fraud and money laundering charges, children of God across the world have taken control of the social media with prayers for the man of God.
Bushiri, who is popularly known as ‘Major 1’ The is expected to be in the dock along with his spouse, Prophetess Mary Bushiri.
Writing on facebook page, Bushiri’s spiritual father, Uebert Angel asked all children of God to be in prayers as the Malawian born Prophet appears in court tomorrow.
“Let us stand together and be in prayer as we prepare for the 29th of August. It is time to show the world that we are behind the prophets” wrote Prophet Uebert Angel.
Another Zimbabwean national, Tendai Billiati, expressed optimism that Bushiri will come out clean.
“Devil is a liar and any weapon against our Papa will not prosper. Fighting men of God is like building castles in the air and Bushiri is unstoppable. He has much work to do the heavenly Father and any barricade to stop him from fulfilling his mission will be dismantled by fire by force,” wrote Billiati.
Back home, Malawians have pledged to continue giving support for the family spiritually.
The couple was nabbed on the 1st of February on charges of fraud, money laundering and contravening the provision of organized crimes act, formally known as the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (Poca).
It is alleged the couple had committed the crimes from 2015.
The Bushiris were granted bail on 6th February with a bond of R100,000 each.
They had spent 5 nights in custody.
As part of their bail conditions, the couple’s travelling documents were also seized. The two suspects are mandated to seek prior permission before leaving Gauteng, South Africa.
After another brief hearing in May, the case was adjourned to 29 August.
