Plan to get rid of Malawi Police Chief Lexten Kachama ahead of the 2019 elections has been rolled out. The Inspector General of Police is being accused of harboring ambitions to contest for a parliamentary seat in the coming 2019 elections under opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) ticket.
Inspector General Lexten Kachama joined the Malawi Police Service on 2nd April, 1979 and was appointed as IG on 10th February, 2015.
Born on June 30, 1958, Lexten Shame Kachama hails from Chidzenje village T/A Kalolo in Lilongwe district.
However this is not true. The truth of the matter is that DPP wants to get rid of Kachama to replace him with their boy, Mwapasa.
The problem is Parliament cannot approve him as he is a partisan police officer.
