Mia and Chakwera; a promising pair for Malawi

LILONGWE (Malawian Watchdog)— A passionately done political song supporting Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and his defacto Vice President and front runner candidate for the running mate spot in 2019 elections has been released.

The song, done by John Kutsokwe Junior aka JJ of the original Mibawa Band, is tackling the problems we are facing as Malawians and why Chakwera will lead our country to prosperity as compared to the current leadership which many are saying has failed beyond imagination.

“This song, rich in content, will help build the momentum for the party as we build up to the 2019 elections,” said our source.

The song fuses the recent Chakwera speech punch lines of “we don’t want it”, a speech delivered during the fund raising dinner held in Blantyre last week.

“If they come to us with a beautiful manifesto, we don’t want it.

If they come to us with a beautiful promise, we don’t want it.

If they come to us with a long academic resume, we don’t want it.

If they come to us with the idea that we should vote by tribe or region, we don’t want it.

If they come to us with a handout, we don’t want it.

If they come to us with an attack on our character, we don’t want it.

If they come to us with agents of discord to disturb and divide us as a party, we don’t want it.

If they come to us with a foundation stone, we don’t want it.

If they come to us with cash gifts stolen from our own taxes, we don’t want it.

Our country is not a prostitute for them to use for their own pleasure and dispose of as they see fit. We are Malawians, and our country is not for sale,” said Chakwera in tearing apart the ruling DPP.
